DIY Solar System provides families and educators with an engaging tool to explore the wonders of our solar system at their convenience. Developed through a collaboration between the Children’s Creativity Museum, Sciencenter, Museum of Life and Science, and UC Berkeley’s The Lawrence Hall of Science, this app offers an array of interactive activities to enhance learning.

Interactive Activities:

  • 11 educational activities covering topics such as space travel, living in space, and planetary exploration.
  • Step-by-step instructions designed and tested by educators, children, and families.
  • Materials for activities are readily available and affordable.

Augmented Reality Planet Walk:

  • Embark on a virtual journey through the solar system using augmented reality technology.
  • Explore planets, dwarf planets, and asteroids in real scale outside your home.
  • View detailed images from NASA at each stop along your planetary tour.

In or Out Game:

  • Challenge your knowledge by deciding if space objects are within or outside the solar system.
  • Expand your celestial awareness beyond our solar neighborhood to objects in the Milky Way.
